An amazing day on the water! Captain Jori was taking the boat out for quick spin and saw the CA51s transient pod of Orca out by Seal Rock in Laguna Beach. CA51 is made of of a matriarch, her four calves and two of their calves. The pod included Comet, a female, 4; Bumper, 11; Orion, 16; and their mother, Star, who was first documented in 1991 in Monterey Bay.
Captain Jori took this video of the encounter on her phone. The winter months are a great time to head out and try and see Killer Whales!
Sea you on the Water!
