Cloudy with a chance of Gray Whale!

Cloudy with a chance of Gray Whale!

We pulled out of the harbor this morning and the ocean was a liquid mirror.  It was a bit cloudy and Jeff and Lauren were excited to see what the ocean would offer up on today’s dolphin tour.  Within ten minutes, we were joined by pacific white-sided dolphins and a few dozen common dolphins. After playing with them for about twenty minutes, we joined up with three playful gray whales migrating south to Baja… just another great January day on the Pacific Riviera! Sea You On The Water! Dolphin Galore!

Dolphin Galore!

It was another amazing day on the water. We pulled out of Dana Point Harbor with light winds out of the East  and within 10 minutes, we were surrounded by a super pod of common dolphin. After about 45 minutes of jumping and playing, they moved on in the direction of Catalina and our guests enjoyed wine and appetizers as we motored past Laguna Beach and back into the harbor. We love our job (and our guests seem to be pretty stoked, too!) “Sea” you on the water, Captain...
Orca Everywhere!

Orca Everywhere!

An amazing day on the water! Captain Jori was taking the boat out for quick spin and saw the CA51s transient pod of Orca out by Seal Rock in Laguna Beach. CA51 is made of of a matriarch, her four calves and two of their calves. The pod included Comet, a female, 4; Bumper, 11; Orion, 16; and their mother, Star, who was first documented in 1991 in Monterey Bay. Captain Jori took this video of the encounter on her phone. The winter months are a great time to head out and try and see Killer Whales! Sea you on the Water!...
